Carlos Nuñez is a partner at DLA Piper Peru and leads the Projects and Infrastructre as well as the Arbitration practice area. He has more than 20 years of experience, having provided legal advice on some of the most important infrastructure projects carried out in Peru in recent years. Carlos has worked as an advisor for local and international private investors in charge of public infrastructure concession contracts and PPPs, as well as public works and private construction contracts. He has advised on the development of transportation infrastructure and on infrastructure in the energy, education, health, irrigation, water and sewage sectors.

He has also advised clients in several private construction contracts for the development of mining and industrial infrastructure. Carlos has extensive experience representing clients in arbitration procedures arising from infrastructure concession contracts and PPPs, public works and private construction contracts, having developed a relevant and widely recognized specialization in construction dispute resolution.

Carlos is also a professor of Government Contracting at postgraduate level at Universidad del Pacifico.

Carlos Nuñez and Guillermo Hesse make a very experienced disputes duo at DLA Piper Perú. Nuñez leads the firm’s projects and construction arbitration practice which is well-versed in disputes relating to PPPs, concession agreements and general construction. Hesse leads the commercial arbitration practice which acts for clients such as TMF Perú and Experian Perú. The firm is attracting a growing range of high-level cases, including some international arbitration – it is acting for Metro de Lima Línea 2 alongside the Madrid office of Cuatrecasas in its ICSID arbitration against the Republic of Peru. The team includes two principal associates, Hernán Jordán  and Víctor Velásquez, who between them bring 35 years litigation and arbitration experience to the practice.
