Jason Wu focuses his practice on corporate and securities matters with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, especially in relation to the energy industry.
Mr. Wu has extensive experience with a diverse range of clients on transactions in multiple countries around the globe. His cross-border transactions experience includes representing Chinese energy giants and financial institutions in connection with their investments in oil and gas assets in the U.S., Europe, Africa, South America and Asia, among others.
Mr. Wu also represents multinational companies on PRC-related corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investment, private equity, venture capital, regulatory and general corporate matters. He has represented clients from various sectors and industries including energy, financial services, manufacturing and technology.
Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Wu served as a senior associate in the energy transactions and projects group at Vinson & Elkins.

Dechert serves as a one-stop shop in strategic corporate and M&A transactions, where its ability to cover all related matters (including finance, real estate and commercial litigation) comes to the fore. Although the overwhelming majority of its work has a cross-border component, the firm is also highly active in domestic mandates. Stephen Chan and David Cho co-head the team, which acts for clients on public and private M&A, private equity transactions, restructurings and joint ventures, among other matters. Stephen Chan has over 15 years of transactional experience. The team also includes Yang Wang, who made partner in January 2019, and associate Jason Wu.
