Joseph A. Riley practices in the area of tax law, with particular emphasis on the taxation of U.S. and international investment funds, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), closed-end funds, business development companies (BDCs), hedge funds, commodity pools and offshore funds.

Mr. Riley advises investors and investment managers on the taxation of securities and derivatives, tax reporting to investors, U.S. and foreign withholding taxes, IRS matters, the U.S. Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and other general tax issues.
