Malcolm S. Dorris has more than 25 years of experience in the securitization area. He has worked on public and private transactions spanning a wide variety of asset types, including auto loans and leases; rental cars; credit card, equipment lease and trade receivables; residential and commercial mortgage loans; middle-market corporate loans; and such esoteric asset types as 12b-1 mutual fund fees, healthcare receivables, pharmaceutical royalty rights, film distribution rights and refund anticipation loans.

Dechert LLP‘s securitization team is known for advising asset managers, investment banks and alternative lenders on a wide variety of securitization transactions, with a strong platform for CLOs and commercial and residential mortgage-backed securities. For ABS, the team advises issuers and underwriters on structuring traditional debt obligations and novel securities transactions, notably in relation to auto and vehicle financing. The team is co-headed from Philadelphia by Richard Jones, a seasoned real estate lawyer, and David Forti, both of whom are veterans of the MBS space. Malcolm Dorris in New York has experience in transactions involving number of asset types, including auto loans and leases, credit cards and trade receivables. John Timperio in Charlotte is the key figure for CLO work.
