Clare sits on the firm’s management board and co-heads the firm’s banking and finance group, dealing with retail, business and investment banking issues, including derivative disputes, mis-selling allegations, compliance and regulatory investigations. She is the relationship partner for two major retail banking clients. She has defended a wide range of claims against banks, for issues including mis-selling, confidentiality, misrepresentation, defamation, mismanagement of share portfolios and sales of property at an undervalue. In 2011, Clare took over the management of a portfolio of mis-selling claims for a banking client, subsequently taking the lead in drafting the documentation, procedures and manuals agreed with the regulator and leading the training for both the client’s internal team and its external law firms. Clare has extensive experience of swap mis-selling claims and dealing with allegations of LIBOR manipulation, including having been initially instructed as the lead on Graiseley and others v Barclays Bank Plc. Other cases Clare was involved with were Sara Pearson v Barclays Bank PLC, Adcock & Sons v Barclays Bank PLC, Mr and Mrs Bay v Barclays Bank PLC, and OM Properties v Barclays Bank PLC. Clare’s clients include Barclays, Barclaycard, Woolwich, RBS, NatWest and Coutts.
