Position

Dominic is a partner in Dentons’ project finance practice whose experience primarily lies in concession-based project finance and general banking. He has advised clients, including banks, sponsors/borrowers and the public sector on all aspects of project financing, both on project-related documentation and the finance documents (debt and capital market solutions). In recent years has focused primarily on the PFI/PPP sector in a number of sectors including social infrastructure, transport (roads and airports) health and defence. He also has experience in the ports sector as well as renewable energy. He recently a advised on the restructuring of four major road PPP projects in Greece. Dominic spent nine months on secondment to the in-house legal department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development advising the bank on its debt and equity investments in Eastern Europe. He also focuses on developing the firm’s project finance in emerging markets with experience in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda as well as both Turkey and Egypt. He practices in: banking and finance; commercial contracts; finance; procurement law and government contracts; project development; project finance.

Dentons has considerable experience in the secondary projects market, as well as advising on operational change and asset management matters in the infrastructure sector. Beyond its national practice, the group is also involved in rail, roads and airport projects on an international level, particularly in Africa. The team is jointly led by Dominic Spacie, Matthew Hanslip-Ward and the Edinburgh-based Euan Wilson. Mark MacAulay in Glasgow is a key contact in procurement matters. Stewart Maciver, also in Edinburgh, has significant experience of infrastructure transactions.
