Commercial Litigation Practice


Lora Brzezynski is the national chair of the Firm’s Commercial Litigation Division, with more than seventy litigators located across the country. Ms. Brzezynski is an experienced trial attorney who focuses her practice on commercial and business disputes, internal investigations, and intellectual property litigation. She has served as lead counsel in numerous trials and hearings before federal and state courts and arbitrators. Ms. Brzezynski represents clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, involving business torts, complex breach of contract actions, and antitrust and unfair competition, as well as construction-related litigation involving alleged construction defects. In the area of business torts, she has extensive experience handling cases involving allegations of civil conspiracy, fraud, tortious interference, and misappropriation of trade secrets. For example, she recently obtained several million dollars in judgments and favorable settlements against the defendants in a conspiracy, fraud, and RICO case. Ms. Brzezynski also routinely handles internal investigations, including involving fraud and improper accounting practices. In the area of intellectual property, Ms. Brzezynski manages complex patent, trademark, and trade dress litigations, including for several international clients. Among her many achievements in this area, Ms. Brzezynski was trial counsel in a patent infringement action in which she obtained a jury verdict in excess of $50 million and a finding of willful infringement for the client. In addition to leading the Commercial Division, Ms. Brzezynski is a member of the Firm’s Special Fee Committee.

At Dentons, Mark Hogge led a team representing Flextronics International in a patent and trade secrets misappropriation action filed by Jawbone and BodyMedia before the International Trade Commission, while Lora Brzezynski defended Shane Boone and Bridge Diagnostics against allegations of trade secrets misappropriation, conversion and unfair competition. Both attorneys are based in Washington DC; the team also operates from Chicago, Boston and Atlanta.
