Sara Biglieri is a partner in Dentons’ Milan office and Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Italy and Head of the Europe Litigation group. She is also responsible for the Compliance practice group in Italy.

Sara provides legal assistance to large multinational groups and primary commercial and financial companies in Italy, dealing mostly with dispute resolution, arbitration and compliance issues. She represents clients in litigated disputes before courts of any degree throughout Italy and before the Supreme Court, and in commercial arbitrations. She is also an experienced arbitrator in ad hoc and institutional arbitrations, and she has been appointed by the Chamber of Arbitration of Milan in several arbitrations under its rules.

She focuses on a broad range of sectors including life science, large scale retail and fast moving consumer goods industries, real estate, banking and insurance. Sara assists clients in multifaceted corporate, commercial, real estate and banking disputes. She also handles complex torts, product liability litigations and cases of unfair competition.

Sara advises on all aspects of corporate compliance in accordance with Legislative Decree 231/2001, and she is an active member of Dentons’ Europe Compliance Product group. She serves as either the president of or as a member of the Vigilance Committee (under Legislative Decree 231/2001) of several major Italian companies.


Sara joined Dentons as a partner in 2016. Prior to that, she spent almost 20 years at Rucellai & Raffaelli law firm, where she become a partner in 2005.

In 2016 Sara took part in Dentons Compliance Day, speaking about “Anti-Bribery and Third Party Intermediaries.”

Sara has spoken at many conferences on various topics, including: “Private Antitrust Enforcement”; La redazione della clausola arbitrale (Drafting the arbitration clause); “L’OdV: composizione e funzioni a seguito delle recenti novità legislative” (The Vigilance Committee: composition and roles following the recent legislative changes); “Le nuove frontiere della responsabilità da prodotto difettoso” (New frontiers in defective products liability); “La riforma del diritto societario: corporate governance, conflitto di interessi, obblighi e responsabilità degli amministratori” (The reform of the corporate legislation: corporate governance, conflict of interest, directors’ duties and liabilities).

She has further assisted with and co-drafted “The Italian product liability experience” published in Liability for Products in a Global Economy (Centre for International Legal Studies).

The team successfully represented a real estate developer in a cross-border construction dispute against Interium regarding a luxury mixed-use development in Kazakhstan. Matteo Vizzardi, who focuses on white-collar criminal law, was a new arrival from Luca Santa Maria e Associati in January 2019.  ‘Brilliant’ criminal law expert Armando Simbari, who arrived in February 2018 from Dinoia Federico Pelanda Simbari Uslenghi, rejoined his former firm in February 2019.
