Vladimir is a Partner in Dentons' Moscow office.Vladimir specializes in corporate, M&A, commercial and competition. Over his professional career of almost 15 years Vladimir has handled major M&A projects and has successfully participated in numerous corporate litigations as instructed by well-known transnational and Russian companies. He has extensive experience in life sciences, but also advises clients in natural resources, retail, automotive, real estate development and other sectors.

Vladimir was highly ranked in corporate/M&A, competition law and life sciences in Russia by The Legal 500, Chambers Europe, and IFLR 1000. He has authored numerous articles on legal issues, participated in legislative drafting projects and is a member of the Russian Bar Association.


Vladimir previously worked at Pepeliaev Group, where he headed the Corporate practice group, and Hannes Snellman, where he managed the Moscow office.

Dentons has strengthened its team with the recruitment of Vladimir Sokov, formally head of corporate practice at Pepeliaev Group in June 2018. The practice acts for an impressive list of leading clients from a diverse range of industries including Russian Direct Investment Fund and Gazprom, among others. The firm’s strong capabilities acting on high-value energy transactions are evident in Alexei Zakharko advising Gazprom on a joint venture with Shell for the construction and operation of an LNG terminal in Leningrad Region, and Maria Oleinik is assisting EuroChem with the sale of 100% equity in Severneft-Urengoy to the Novatek Group. In in-bound transactions, Richard Cowie is acting for a consortium of private equity and sovereign wealth funds concerning the acquisition of a 25% stake in the holding company of Pulkovo Airport. Christopher Rose is advising Sberbank Investments on the acquisition of an equity stake in Genser Group, one of Russia’s largest car dealers.

In June 2018, Radmila Nikitina, Vladimir Sokov, Sergey Klimenko and associate Ksenia Kozhina joined the firm from Pepeliaev Group.
