Position

Thomas is a partner in our London Disputes practice. He has particular expertise in high-value, high-profile High Court disputes across a broad range of industries. Thomas has particular expertise acting for banks and other financial services institutions.

Thomas also has significant experience of legal process outsourcing and has coordinated major, cross-border, document review exercises. As such, he also has a particular interest in electronic disclosure and the outsourcing of document review. He has spoken at national events on these topics.

Thomas is a member of the highly regarded Commercial Litigation team that was commended for Commercial Litigation Team of the Year by Legal Business Awards 2018.

At Dentons, the banking litigation practice is viewed as ‘adept at handling large and sensitive banking and finance claims’, working with non-contentious banking colleagues at the team to provide clients support on regulatory investigations, derivatives disputes, ISA interpretation disputes, and securitisation litigation. The team often acts on multi-jurisdictional mandates, evidenced through recent advice given to a leading cloud-based software provider on potential regulatory risks. Felicity Ewing leads the team and has expertise in both group litigation defence and ESG-related financial services claims. Thomas Leyland is a key figure in the practice, notably acting for NatWest in its LIBOR swaps claims defence.
