Stephen is a partner in the Environment and Safety practice at Dentons. Specializing in environment, health, safety and societal law, Stephen advises clients on incident response, day-to-day compliance matters and liability risk management. He regularly advises on pollution liability regimes, process authorizations and environmental permitting, waste law, chemicals law, renewable energy law, international climate change mechanisms, resource efficiency mechanisms, nuisance and negligence, habitat protection, health and safety law, product liability and broader societal issues such as human rights. Stephen’s practice encompasses the oil and gas (upstream and downstream), mining, waste, manufacturing, land remediation, clean-tech, chemical, insurance, food and beverage, and power sectors. In addition to advising private companies, Stephen has specific expertise in drafting regulatory frameworks and statutory instruments in both the EU and emerging markets.  Stephen is a Band 1 ranked individual in Chambers and a member of the Legal 500 Hall of Fame for Environmental Law.
