Position

Chris heads the Corporate and Banking team in Milton Keynes. He leads our team offering a wide range of expertise and experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and financing, with particular strengths in owner-managed businesses, venture technology and emerging growth companies, private equity, automotive retail, insurance, manufacturing, acquisition finance and real estate finance. The team has considerable experience in both domestic and cross-border corporate and finance transactions. The team also includes our Company Secretarial unit which services more than 400 companies, many for household name groups.

Chris is a corporate and finance specialist. His own practice includes international mergers and acquisitions, fundraising for venture technology and emerging growth companies, advising on complex corporate governance matters including shareholder rights and finance work for both lender and borrower, with a particular focus on UK real estate finance.

Chris has previously worked in Dentons’ Budapest office as well as being seconded to The Royal Bank of Scotland plc.

Christopher Colclough and Sarah Lima jointly lead the Milton Keynes-based group at Dentons. The team leverages the firm’s international network to advise large companies, most notably Airwair (Dr. Martens) and Sainsbury’s Group. Colclough heads up the corporate side of the practice, and often handles cross-border transactions, and Faye Garvey primarily focuses on private M&A and joint ventures. Senior associate Ryan Chia advises public sector clients on management buy-outs and company formations. Nick Harrison left the practice in November 2022.

The ‘very approachable and highly capable‘ Milton Keynes-based team at Dentons handles the full range of bilateral acquisitions and Islamic financing mandates for both borrowers and lenders. Practice head Christopher Colclough often advises domestic and international lenders on acquisition financing issues regarding retail and office spaces. Robert Wyatt leads the real estate finance team, and regularly acts for high street banks in real estate financings, while Faye Garvey maintains a leveraged finance-focused practice and primarily assists international lenders with syndicated lending matters. Associate Matthew Exton acts for a variety of borrowers in the automotive, infrastructure and insurance sectors.
