Scott is the senior litigator in Dentons Ottawa office and practices predominantly in corporate and commercial litigation. Since 1977, Scott has appeared at all trial and appellate levels in Ontario, as well as at the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Scott has also been involved in complex commercial matters in Alberta, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories and Quebec in banking, securities and contract. In addition to his commercial trial and appellate experience, Scott has regulatory experience before federal and Ontario tribunals, and has acted on regulatory inquiries including as Senior Counsel to the Independent Investigation Into the 2008 Listeriosis Outbreak.

Scott represents corporate interests in the financial, high tech and business sectors.

Scott has particular expertise in the conduct of complex commercial litigation against governments at all levels.
