Career
Simon Kupi is an associate in Dentons’ energy regulatory group in Calgary. Simon is developing a broad practice spanning environmental, Aboriginal, economic regulatory and public law. Prior to joining Dentons, Simon served as counsel at the National Energy Board (NEB). At the NEB, Simon advised on the 400-intervenor Trans Mountain Expansion Project pipeline hearing. Simon’s regulatory practice also draws from his experience at Ontario’s power system operator, the IESO, where his work focused on enforcement and anti-market manipulation matters. Simon completed his J.D. in 2011 at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he served as Senior Editor on the Osgoode Hall Law Journal. Simon currently volunteers his time as an Adjunct Professor at Osgoode, co-teaching an online course on business law and fiduciary duties.
