Career
Matt is an associate with the Dentons’ Business Law Group. His practice focuses on corporate/commercial law, mergers & acquisitions and securities. He has been involved with the incorporation, organization and financing of companies, the drafting of purchase and sale agreements, shareholder agreements, as well as the drafting of commercial agreements. Matt also has experience in a variety of transactions, including due diligence related to both asset and share purchase and sale transactions, amalgamations and corporate restructurings. He has also advised not-for-profit corporations on legislative and regulatory compliance. Matt joined Dentons in 2012 as a summer student and articled with the firm in 2013-2014. During his summer, Matt was seconded to Royal Bank of Canada’s Wealth Management In-house Legal Group where he assisted with international competition and anti-trust law and various compliance matters. In law school, Matt participated in a variety of advocacy competitions, including representing his school in the Great Lakes Mediation Moot Tournament held at Michigan State University where Matt won top advocate/client pair and top mediator team.
