Jamie is head of the tier 1 ranked Corporate team in Muscat and has been practising law in the Middle East since 2008.
He joined Dentons in December 2019, having previously been a partner at another international law firm based in Oman. Jamie has very broad international corporate and commercial experience, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and regulatory advice.
He is an expert on foreign direct investment in Oman and has advised clients in a wide range of sectors, including: defence, construction, FMCG, oil & gas, financial institutions, manufacturing and infrastructure.

Dentons‘ corporate and commercial practice advises on high-value M&A transactions and joint ventures, as well as commercial agreements in the telecommunications, real estate and tourism sectors. The practice is led by Jamie Gibson, who joined the firm in November 2019 from Trowers & Hamlins LLP. Former practice head Nick Simpson has relocated to the firm’s Saudi Arabia office, but remains active in the Omani market. Senior legal consultant Simon Topping specialises in the technology and telecommunications sectors. Senior associate Darshi Sanganee is another name to note.
Dentons‘ real estate and construction team is experienced in handling development projects, acquisitions and disposals of real estate assets, and debt and equity finance transactions. The team’s client base includes state bodies, as well as Omani and international companies. The team is spread across Dubai and Oman. Although former practice head Nick Simpson moved to Dentons’ Saudi Arabia practice, he continues to work on Omani matters. Andrew Figgins and Jamie Gibson jointly lead the team in Muscat. Gibson joined the practice in December 2019 from Trowers & Hamlins LLP.
