Javier Lasa is a partner in the Madrid office and Head of the Energy and Natural Resources in Dentons Spain. Prior to joining Dentons, Javier was partners of law firms Denton Lupicinio and Masons Buxeda Menchén.
He advises on all aspects relating to the energy sector (oil and gas, electricity and renewable energy). Javier has more than 20 years of experience advising energy and renewable energy companies on all type of matters, including national and international projects, and in particular, in emerging markets.
Javier has wide experience in drafting and advising major oil and gas companies in different types of contracts (PSCs, EPCs, PSAs), Joint Ventures, Joint Operation Agreements (JOA), Crude Oil Purchase and Marketing Agreement, Gas Supply Agreements and LNG Spot Sales, restructuring, project finance, construction contracts and share purchase agreements in many jurisdictions. Prior to the integration to Dentons, Javier co-headed the Global Energy practice at Salans and currently, he is co-head of the Energy practice at Dentons Europe.
Leading international directories such as Chambers Global and Chambers Europe recommended Javier as one of the leading energy lawyers in Spain. The Legal 500 EMEA publication also recommends Javier’s energy practice. The USA directory Best Lawyers (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 Editions) recommends him as one of the leading banking and finance and administrative lawyers in Spain. The publication Who’s Who Legal also recommends him as leading energy lawyer in Spain (2015 Edition).
