Fernando Gutiérrez is Partner at Dentons’ Madrid office and a member of the Banking and Finance department. Prior to joining Dentons, he worked in Clifford Chance, DLA Piper and PwC Tax & Legal Services. He has also held office as head of legal and Secretary-General of Sepi Desarrollo Empresarial, S.A., S.M.E. (Sepides). He has also been member of the board of several governmental companies, as well as secretary and vice-secretary to the board of numerous companies, governmental and private, listed and unlisted.
Fernando is specialized in banking and finance law and corporate matters. He has broad experience in regulatory advice to financial entities, corporate and M&A transactions, joint ventures and shareholders’ agreements, as well as in project financing, especially in renewables, PPP and healthcare, refinancing, new-money finance and LBOs, debt restructuring transactions and private equity transactions. He combines practice of law and teaching activities, in such a way that he has taught and lectured at both domestic universities and international universities.
He holds a dual degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, as well as an Economics degree from the same University. He studied a Master in Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Berkeley and a Political Science degree in Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
