Mateusz Toczyski heads the Banking and Finance practice in Poland and co-heads Dentons’ global Banking and Finance practice. He specializes in banking law, project finance and financial restructuring. He acts for financial institutions as well as borrowers. He has led and supervised numerous complex financing projects in Poland and across the CEE countries.

He acted as an expert on legislative work related to regulatory change in Poland, including the implemented bankruptcy law and the Act on registered pledges.

He authored and co-authored several articles and books on the legal aspects of integration of the financial markets in the European Union.

Dentons‘ banking and finance team was bolstered in 2021 by the arrival of Mark Segall from CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang Posniak i Bejm sp.k.; he has expertise in cross-border syndicated lending and other structured finance transactions. The group in Warsaw is led by Mateusz Toczyski, who is also a co-head of the firm’s global banking practice. Bartosz Nojek handles syndicated lending transactions for borrowers and lenders; Piotr Nerwiński, who was promoted to partner in March 2021 is noted for his expertise in real estate finance and project finance deals. Tomasz Trocki takes the lead in consensual restructuring projects. In July 2021,Agnieszka Lipska left the firm to take up an in-house position at Enlight Renewable Energy.
