Tomasz Trocki, PhD, is a partner in Dentons’ Warsaw office where he heads the Consensual Restructuring practice. He specializes in financial, restructuring and bankruptcy law.

Tomasz is an expert in restructuring transactions and has advised clients on major debt restructuring transactions on the Polish market. He has experience in financing transactions, including leveraged and project finance as well as refinancing.

Tomasz is the author of numerous publications in restructuring and bankruptcy law as well as other civil law issues related to consensual restructuring. His PhD thesis (2019) was “The impact of bankruptcy and the opening of restructuring proceedings on the admissibility of statutory and contractual set-off”. In 2020 he completed the LEAD program at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Dentons‘ practice has a notable strength in handling consensual and in-court restructurings and bankruptcies for financial institutions. Complementing the core offering, the team also provides support in relation to insolvency avoidance and insolvency litigation. Anna Maria Pukszto chairs the department, which works closely with the firm’s tax, real estate, corporate and capital markets groups. Tomasz Trocki, who leads the consensual restructuring team, joined in August 2020 from Allen & Overy, A. Pedzich sp. k.. Counsel Stanisław Sołtysik is adept at contentious matters in this area.

Dentons‘ banking and finance team was bolstered in 2021 by the arrival of Mark Segall from CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang Posniak i Bejm sp.k.; he has expertise in cross-border syndicated lending and other structured finance transactions. The group in Warsaw is led by Mateusz Toczyski, who is also a co-head of the firm’s global banking practice. Bartosz Nojek handles syndicated lending transactions for borrowers and lenders; Piotr Nerwiński, who was promoted to partner in March 2021 is noted for his expertise in real estate finance and project finance deals. Tomasz Trocki takes the lead in consensual restructuring projects. In July 2021,Agnieszka Lipska left the firm to take up an in-house position at Enlight Renewable Energy.
