Position

Dr. Florian Wiesner, LL.M. (Cambridge), is a partner in our Dusseldorf office and Co-Head of the Competition & Antitrust group in Germany. He advises on all areas of EU and German competition law, specializing in merger control, cartel investigations, cooperation and distribution agreements, compliance and all antitrust aspects of the day-to-day business.

Florian has particular experience advising and coordinating multinational merger control proceedings. He advises clients from a wide range of industry sectors, with a special focus on the automotive, e-mobility and energy sector.

Prior to joining Dentons, Florian worked for 10 years for two leading international law firms in Duesseldorf.

Jörg Karenfort in Berlin ist Co-Head der globalen Competition and Antitrust Praxisgruppe und ist häufig in Schadensersatzverfahren sowie in Kartellverfahren auf EU-Ebene aktiv. Denton‘s practice stands out for its ‘sound sector knowledge and business-related advice‘, international network as well as a strong presence at various German locations. Jörg Karenfort in Berlin co-heads the global competition and antitrust practice group and frequently acts in tort and antitrust proceedings at EU level while Florian Wiesner‘s team in Düsseldorf ‘works excellently’ and advises on merger controls among other things; Wiesner and René Grafunder jointly took over the lead of the firm’s German antitrust practice in January 2022. Maria Brakalova, a specialist in investment control-related antitrust matters, made partner in March 2021 and highly regarded expert Bertold Bär-Bouyssière, previously at DLA Piper, joined the Berlin and Brussels team as of counsel in June 2021.
