Dentons is particularly active in the hotel sector, counting several 4- and 5-star establishments among its clients. The department typically undertakes restructurings and reorganisations, facilitated by the firm’s global full-service offering, with experts in M&A, employment, tax and real estate often forming cross-practice groups for clients. On the IP side, the team is retained by several luxury brands, often advising on distribution law matters. The Paris team is jointly led by IP specialists David Masson and Sandra Hazan. Hazan also notably founded the luxury goods think tank Cercle du Luxe. François Chateau represents several French and European companies from New York.
Dentons‘ large team is able to cover a wide range of issues. The practice has strong transactional expertise and assists leading corporations, funds and insurers with the structuring of mid-sized to large M&A, private equity and property deals. The team notably advised on the structuring of a landmark listed M&A transaction in 2020 and assisted a leading private equity fund with a jumbo LBO. Following the Covid-19 crisis, the activity of the team shifted towards advising companies on major tax restructuring, distressed M&A and transfer pricing issues. It has also been highly solicited by a UK and Irish client base to advise on Brexit issues. Litigation is also dealt with. The practice is headed by Gianluca Calisti and also includes the highly recommended Sandra Hazan and Jessie Gaston, as well as of counsel Jérôme Le Berre and Julien Le Guyader.
