Associate and Solicitor Advocate specialising in all areas of international children law, with particular experience in child abduction proceedings and the international movement of children. Regularly instructed by applicant and respondent parents in Hague and wardship abduction matters in the High Court. Regularly conducts his own advocacy.


Trained at Dawson Cornwell; qualified 2014; acted in over two dozen reported cases ranging from the High Court to the Supreme Court, including the first 1980 Hague Convention child abduction between Japan and the UK, the first case concerning the 1996 Hague Convention to reach the UK Supreme Court, the first appeal case to concern the interpretation of Brussels II Revised enforcement provisions, and a number of high-profile and widely-reported appeals and committals. The only specialist international children practitioner called to the Bar of the British Sovereign Base Area of Akrotiri and Dhekelia, having appeared in what is thought to be the first international children case in that jurisdiction. Shortlisted for the Law Society Excellence Awards Junior Solicitor of the Year 2018, and Family Law Awards Young Solicitor of the Year 2017. Regular speaker at conferences and professional events.


Fluent in Spanish and French, with a high level of German.


Resolution accredited specialist in the areas of child abduction and EU/International law. Active member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), the British Spanish Law Association, Friends of the British Overseas Territories and a member of Resolution.


European Law at the University of Warwick and spent a year studying in France and in Germany as part of his degree. Master’s degree with distinction in Comparative European Law from Université Lille II, France (2011). Dissertation (focusing on families in the refugee and asylum legal process) has since been published.
