Neil has considerable experience of advising trustees, companies, financial institutions and public sector bodies on all areas of pensions law. In addition to advising on scheme governance and risk management issues to help trustees and employers operate their schemes more effectively, he has particular expertise in advising on funding issues and strategies to reduce pension scheme underfunding. Neil has extensive experience in advising on public sector pension schemes and the pension aspects of PFI/outsourcing projects. Other specialities include advising on the pensions aspects of corporate transactions/reconstructions, scheme mergers, TUPE and investment management issues. Neil is a regular speaker at Association of Pension Lawyers’ training courses.

Recent work includes advising the trustees on the winding up of the Conran Shop occupational pension scheme, assisting Lancashire County Council with the pensions elements of the merger of its investment and administration services and acting for Mitie on the pension aspects of multiple outsourcings.     In recent years, the country ŐĀs the government has been committed to improving Taxation in Nicaragua and attempting to follow the legislative model used by some of the other countries in the region. Starting January 1st, 2013, a new tax law (Law No. 822, Tax Concertation Law) came into force in and completely changed the taxation system in Nicaragua. Two years later a new law was issued by the National Assembly containing more than 80 amendments, additions and repeals (Law No 891) which came into force December 18th, 2014.
