Paul’s practice extends to a wide range of commercial insurance areas, both contentious and non-contentious. Paul has extensive experience of drafting policy wordings and advising upon major policy coverage disputes in relation to professional indemnity, D & O, material damage/business interruption, transactional liability and environmental insurances. Paul acts for London market insurers in defending claims brought in against a range of professionals, in particular accountants, insurance brokers, solicitors and construction professionals. Paul also acts for insurers in subrogated recovery actions. Paul also has an extensive non contentious commercial insurance practice, advising upon a wide range of insurance issues in a corporate context. In particular Paul advises upon insurance market agreements ( including delegated authority agreements and broker service agreements). His non contentious practice has led Paul to advise extensively upon the structuring of insurance programmes and in negotiating complex insuring obligations, in particular in relation to large scale development/regeneration and PFI/PPP projects. He has also drafted commercial combined and project/PFI standard policy wordings for several major London market company and Lloyd’s insurers.
