Dispute Resolution

Position

Leo is a partner in the Dispute Resolution team. He advises on a range of contentious matters, with particular expertise in tax disputes, trading relationships, boardroom/shareholder disputes, professional negligence, pensions and commercial fraud. He has extensively litigated cases before the High Court, Court of Appeal, County Courts and Tax Tribunal.

Career

Leo joined Schofield Sweeney in 2016. He trained at DLA Piper, before spending six years at DWF and then two years at LCF Law.

Leisure

Leo is a keen sports and fitness enthusiast. He enjoys playing football and is a long-suffering supporter of Newcastle United. He is also a devoted musician and lover of music, and fronts an indie-rock band called Fenton.

Schofield Sweeney's team includes individuals based across Yorkshire in the firm's Bradford and Leeds offices. It is frequently instructed on a range of complex litigation in the region and nationally; recently the group has been particular busy handling shareholder and other corporate disputes. Bradford-based James Staton, who has significant experience in a range of High Court and Commercial Court litigation as well as mediation, heads up the team, which includes Leo Jones-Rowe in Leeds, who has particular experience handling tax disputes.  Alistair Kennedy and Mathew Fidler left the practice and set up new firm Tyr Law.
