Career

Cosima is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya for over 15 years and has been a partner in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department since 2008. She is Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Cosima has considerable experience in advising and representing clients on a broad spectrum of commercial disputes, employment law, insolvency and security realisation, company law, tracing claims and private international law. Cosima’s clients are from diverse sectors both locally and internationally including finance, manufacturing, agriculture, health, advertising, humanitarian and donor agencies and religious organisations. Some of the notable matters Cosima has been instructed on include: providing advisory services on Kenyan law for an international law firm in a United States class action suit relating to allegations of breach of international human rights; successfully represented an international hotel chain in a major fraud by employees valued at approximately KES 90 million (approximately USD 1.4 million); and part of the defence team that represented an international audit firm in a class action suit filed by depositors of a collapsed bank for KES 2.6 billion (approximately USD 40 million).
