Barry O’Shea leads the team and has a thriving pan-European practice, advising both lenders and borrowers on restructurings, acquisitions and structured debt. ‘Seasoned partner‘ Andrew Carnegie has expertise in real estate finance and arrangements, insolvency matters, structured finance and securitisation, especially regarding cross-border work and hotel assets. Praised as ‘fantastic’, Emma Matebalavu sits as co-head of the firm’s global financial market group and is experienced in UK and European financing, including CRE loan portfolio sales and loan on loan financings, and commercial mortgage-backed security (CMBS) transactions. Laura Smallcombe is especially strong in handling structured real estate debt products, and Claire Fawcett, who was promoted to partner in May 2022, acts for both sponsors and lenders across a range of real estate financial transactions.
