Capsticks LLP‘s defendant clinical negligence lawyers are ‘characterised by their intelligence, ability to carry out a penetrating legal analysis and a determination to leave no stone unturned‘, according to one client. As well as handling complex and sensitive work on behalf of numerous NHS acute, community, mental health and ambulance trusts, the firm has also developed a significant medical malpractice offering, which represents underwriters in claims brought against private surgeons, clinics and hospitals. Other areas of focus include inquests, and providing advice to healthcare teams in the elite sports sector. Peter Marquand acts as the national department head, while Catherine Bennett, who specialises in brain, spinal and other catastrophic injuries, has overall responsibility for the operational delivery of NHS Resolution’s work. Group litigation expert Philip Hatherall is also recommended.
