Career

Małgorzata Surdek is a Polish-qualified advocate and the Partner at CMS.

Małgorzata has experience in advising in civil, commercial and criminal disputes before state courts as well as domestic and international arbitration tribunals, especially in matters relating to consumer protection, intellectual property and unfair competition, insurance claims, construction and public procurement disputes, as well as representing clients in disputes with regulators.

She represents clients in international investment arbitration cases. As regards, commercial arbitration, she represented clients in front of ICC, SCC, UNCITRAL, LCIA, LCIA-DIFC, SAKIG and Lewiatan tribunals. She also acts as an arbitrator in proceedings administered by various arbitral institutions including ICC. She is a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris, the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR as well as a member of the Arbitration Commission at ICC Polish National Committee. Małgorzata is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London (No. 33331).

Małgorzata has broad experience in the financial services sector. She has advised many global financial services companies on regulatory and licensing issues related to the establishment of insurance, pension and asset management businesses in Poland, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing, bancassurance and launching new financial products.
