Position

Peter is a partner in the criminal department who offers clients a complete service from arrest to trial, acting as litigator and advocate in Magistrates and Crown Courts. He is recommended by Chambers UK 2018 as a rising star in the criminal defence world and is described as “very client-orientated and nothing is too much trouble. He is very hard working and dedicated, and prepares cases to within an inch of their lives."

Peter regularly advises clients in relation to police interviews and prepares representations to the CPS that a client should not be charged at all. Peter was commended by a professional client following a successful outcome: "I have worked with a large number of lawyers through the years and can honestly say that the quality of your advice and support has been amongst the best I have experienced".

Peter represents clients on matters ranging from serious sexual allegations to motoring offences. His caseload has included homicide and other violent crimes, dishonesty, money laundering and drug offences. He often defends professionals including teachers, doctors and lawyers and their families accused of sexual offences, assaults, public order offences, harassment, road traffic violations and fare evasion. Another professional client recently commented: “attentiveness and responsiveness, as well as technical knowledge are vital in building and maintaining a specialist legal practice: you have displayed them all in abundance.”  He is a key team member in many high profile and sensitive cases.

Career

Peter trained as a lawyer after a stint working for a cross-border payments company in the City of London. After completing his legal education Peter trained as a solicitor at a busy criminal practice in north London. He qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and joined Hickman & Rose in February 2015, becoming a partner in 2018. Since 2016 Peter has been a committee member of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors Association.

Education

Peter has a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Leeds, 1997.  He completed the GDL and LPC at the College of Law, Bloomsbury.
