Position
Partner and Acting Head of Commercial Property. Rachel has extensive experience in a variety of commercial property matters including:
• Sales and acquisitions of freehold and leasehold land (with and without funding);
• Estate management and Landlord & Tenant matters: agreements for lease, leases, assignments and underleases, alterations, renewal leases, variations and surrenders;
• Portfolio refinancing;
• Development: acting for developers, regional and national regeneration agencies, land owners and occupiers in connection with development agreements and conditional contracts, option and promotion agreements, rights of pre-emption and overage;
• Property finance: acting on behalf of both borrowers and lenders; and
• Acting for NHS Trusts, Primary Care Organisation and Medical and Dental Practitioners.
Career
Training contract at Muckle LLP in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Qualified in 1999. Specialised in commercial property at leading national firms including Eversheds Sutherland and Hempsons. Joined Butcher & Barlow in 2018 and became a partner in the Firm in May 2021.
