Rodríguez Angobaldo Abogados is a dispute resolution boutique with niche expertise in the insurance sector under partner Alvaro Bonilla, assisted by very experienced litigator and arbitrator Fernando Rodríguez-Angobaldo. Cases include some key matters interpreting insurance contract law, as well as coverage disputes in high-value claims on behalf leading domestic insurance companies such as Rimac Seguros y Reaseguros, La Positiva and Pacifico EPS. The firm’s large caseload also includes representation of insured parties, although to a lesser degree. However, since publication, Bonilla has departed the firm.
Dispute resolution boutique Rodríguez Angobaldo Abogados fields one of the largest teams in the market, with five partners dedicated exclusively to litigation and arbitration, backed by 31 associates. It handles high-volume work for some stellar clients, such as Telefónica del Perú and Banco de Crédito del Perú – BCP, but is steadily growing its caseload of more complex or high-value claims. Between them, the partners have a wealth of experience; founding partner Fernando Rodríguez-Angobaldo and Jaime Heredia (former partner at Muñiz, Olaya, Meléndez, Castro, Ono & Herrera Abogados) ‘stand out especially’, say clients and each has 20 years’ in the field. Adolfo Pinillos ‘will be a star in the future’ and is ‘capable, dedicated and extremely intelligent’. The team was further strengthened in mid-November 2020 with the hire -as partner- of Úrsula Caro; formerly at Rubio Leguía Normand, Caro ‘knows the dynamics of disputes very well‘.
