Banking and finance Tier 3
Honorato Delaveau advises on bilateral and syndicated loans, debt restructuring, equity and debt offerings and placements, securitisation, acquisition and project finance, and structured products. Clients include Vantrust, Banco de la Nación Argentina, Banco de Crédito e Inversiones and Credit Suisse. Recent work includes assisting BTG Pactual Asset Management and Ameris with the restructuring of private debt facilities, advising Banco Santander Chile on the structuring and implementation of a new guarantee system, and acting for Energía Llaima regarding a $130m, 15-year credit line from Itaú Corpbanca. The team has also been active assisting a number of clients with the structuring of multiple finance facilities to develop real estate projects. Mining Tier 3
Honorato Delaveau is 'well known in the market and very experienced'. The practice undertakes matters ranging from investments, the purchase and sales of mining companies and project finance, to mining concessions, permits, water rights and EPCs. Recent mandates included advising Canada's Camrova Resources on the acquisition of Compañia Minera Oximin. Gonzalo Delaveau is 'a seasoned mining lawyer who brings a wealth of experience to the firm and his clients'; Rodrigo Delaveau is a well-regarded of counsel. Honorato Delaveau advises real estate and construction companies, investment funds, investment banks, family offices and private clients on the development of residential, commercial and industrial projects, as well as office buildings. Juan Ignacio Peña leads the real estate and engineering department, Sebastián Delpiano is an asset-backed finance expert, and Roberto Olivos (previously at Banco Santander Chile) joined the firm as a senior associate. Honorato Delaveau is 'always available and very proactive'. The practice is primarily focused on advising significant mid-market corporations and has been particularly active on behalf of domestic and foreign private equity funds acquiring distressed Chilean assets as well as businesses with a Peru or Colombia presence or expansion potential. Work highlights include advising Canadian renewable energy company Innergex with the $120m acquisition of a 50 per cent stake in Chilean energy generation company Energía Llaima; and both companies on their $230m purchase of energy-generation holding company Duqueco. Experienced partners José Luis Honorato, Gonzalo Delaveau and Sebastian Delpiano, along with senior associate Nicolás Garcia, are the key team members. The practice group was further strengthened with the 2018 hires of compliance specialist and former Moneda Asset Management GC, Carlos Frias, as of counsel; and Roberto Olivos, formerly in-house at Banco Santander Chile, as senior associate.
