Career
As a lawyer, Karen has extensive experience in the areas of discipline and fitness to practise, acting as counsel on behalf of various regulated health profession colleges, including the College of Nurses of Ontario, the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, the Ontario College of Pharmacists, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. In addition, she has represented clients before numerous administrative tribunals, and all levels of court, at inquests and at public inquiries. Her practice encompasses a broad range of litigation, including civil litigation, administrative law, professional discipline, health law, employment and medical and professional negligence. She has frequently acted as an advocate for clients on appeals to the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal.
