Career

Melissa Silié Ruiz has expertise in both business and dispute resolution matters. Her key practice areas are business and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, securities market, administrative and regulatory, antitrust and consumer protection. She has assisted in major transactions related to public and private offers, financial sector, acquisitions in the securities market and other transactions of public procurement and restructuring of businesses. She is known for her knowledge in antitrust and has represented economic agents in the first antitrust cases in the country.

Member of the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic, the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) and the Legal Committee of the Britain Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic she is also volunteer of the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic since 2007.

She graduated in 2011 with a law degree from UNIBE, Summa Cum Laude, with the highest rate of graduates being recognized as valedictorian. She has a Master’s Degree in Business Law (LLM) from the University of Manchester and a Master’s Degree in State Administration Law (IGLOBAL-University of Salamanca) and specialized studies in regulatory and competition matters such as the Intensive Course on Competition Law of Pro Competition and the IDB, and the Course on Regulation and Competition Law organized by the University of Valladolid in 2018.
