With over 40 years of experience, he is one of the most prominent lawyers in Uruguay and a renowned  academic expert in Commercial and Banking Law. He is Professor of Commercial and Banking Law, Dean of the Law School of the University of Montevideo, international arbitrator. Dr. Olivera García has been a consultant for the government and advises national and international companies, and has drafted the Acts which currently regulate Trusts as well as Insolvency, Bankruptcy and Restructuring
