Ana Paula’s main practice areas are securities and capital markets, with significant expertise in real estate and secured transactions, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and corporate related matters.  She is regularly involved in cross-border transactions in connection with the structuring, development and financing of projects in Mexico.

Additionally, she specializes in real estate finance and investment. She has a strong background in relevant real estate transactions including business, commercial, industrial and residential developments, tourism and leisure projects (hotels, time-share regimes and mixed-use developments). She has substantial experience advising clients on structuring in CKDs (development capital certificates) and FIBRAs (the Mexican equivalent of a U.S. Reit), private funds and other financial investment vehicles for the real estate sector. In addition, she represents national and international sponsors, banks and financial institutions, global real estate investors and insurance companies, among others.

Ana Paula is part of NHG’s team specialised in advising Mexican and foreign companies in their transition to a regenerative economy through sustainable principles and ESG criteria, which has led her to work on labelled issuances and financings.

Ana Paula graduated from Universidad Panamericana, attorney at law (2007) and received her LLM from New York University School of Law (2012) with special focus on Corporate Law.

Co-author of the Mexico Chapter on Capital Market Regulations 2021 for the Thompson Reuters’ International Capital Markets and Securities Regulation.

Author of the article “How can Mexican boards of directors incorporate climate governance principles, 2021”, in the Ganar-Ganar magazine, and was nominated by such publication for an award as one of its best publications.

Co-author of the article “Stakeholder Capitalism: Sustainable Finance and Female Empowerment, 2021” for Abogadas MX.
