Managing partner and head of the financial services department of the firm. He concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, banking, tourism, real estate and telecommunications.


Ricardo Pellerano joined Pellerano & Herrera in 1975, and became a partner in 1986. His practice is additionally focused on mergers and acquisitions, having advised local and foreign companies in various industries. He has also been actively involved in transactions related to investments and tourism industry developers in the country, with extensive experience in real estate matters. He has represented commercial and investment banks, insurance companies and financial institutions in financing, securitization, restructuring and project finance. For several consecutive years, Ricardo has been recognized as an outstanding lawyer in the market by prestigious compendiums and directories. In 1991, he received the award “Joven sobresaliente de la República Dominicana” (outstanding young professional of the Dominican Republic), awarded by Organización Mundial de Líderes Jaycees JCI ’72, Inc., while in 2010, he received the Award of Merit granted by the Navy of the Dominican Republic for his pro-bono work in reviewing and updating the Navy’s legal framework.

The team has particular expertise in assisting multinational companies with entering the Dominican market, as well as advising on foreign investments, local and cross-border M&A, and corporate restructurings. In addition, the firm entered a collaboration agreement with global firm Andersen Legal in August 2021, expanding its international reach. The practice is led by managing partner Ricardo Pellerano, who is experienced in high-profile transactions in the banking, real estate and tourism sectors in particular, and Alessandra Di Carlo, who is noted for her expertise in cross-border deals. Practice co-head Ramón Luciano advised on land demarcation issues for both a tourist resort and Avon, as well as real estate matters for individuals such as recovery of real estate in a will dispute, and property sales for foreign investors.
