Fabiola is the regional Head of the Intellectual Property department. She joined the firm in 2012, and after gaining wide experience in the Corporate M&A and Regulatory Affairs practice areas she took over the Intellectual Property area leading a team of experienced negotiators and passionate problem solvers.

Specialist in Intellectual Property and Technology. She joined LatinAlliance in 2012 in the Corporate Department. Her high commitment and understanding of market trends, lead her to promote within the firm the Intellectual Property area, which she later ends up leading. Member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Harmony Committee of the Trademark Law practice 2020-2021.

From 2017 to 2018 she travels to Chile to study the Master in Business Administration at the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, which has allowed her to acquire a consolidated vision of the business of the clients she serves, beyond the legal aspects.

Nicaragua > Intellectual property

The intellectual property team at LatinAlliance Nicaragua specialises in managing and safeguarding the IP portfolios of multinational pharmaceutical companies. The group offers a comprehensive service, not limited to oppositions, appeals, judicial and extrajudicial actions, product branding, registrations, renewals and the development of licensing programmes. The team is headed by experienced IP negotiator Fabiola Torres from the Salvadoran office and backed locally by opposition litigation specialist Ana Carolina Barquero. The intellectual property practice at LatinAlliance El Salvador provides ‘excellent advice and a personalised service‘ to its national and multinational clients. LatinAlliance Guatemala is particularly experienced in advising clients from the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, as well as food and beverages and retail companies, ranging from large multinationals to entrepreneurs and small businesses. The team advises on the management of trade mark and patent portfolios, as well as licensing agreements and transfer contracts, and offers a software system, Latin Files, to assist clients with the management of their trade mark portfolios in Central America, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Colombia. El Salvador-based Fabiola Torres leads the team with Ruth Olivares, who is experienced in both contentious and non-contentious IP matters.
