Career

Mr. Torres Lemus is a founding partner at LatinAlliance. He has ample experience in the field of Salvadoran Law and is noted for having participated in important merger and acquisition processes, such as the Grupo Banistmo purchase of the Inversiones Financieras Bancosal, S.A. conglomerate; the acquisition carried out by Banco G&T Continental de Guatemala of the Banco Americano, S.A. conglomerate; HSBC’s purchase of Grupo Banistmo and Inversiones Financieras Bancosal, S.A.; the purchase of insurance companies carried out in Central America by Aseguradora Mundial, today known as Mapfre, and other important operations in the Central American area.

Is an expert in Banking and Finance matters, having been recognized before by Chambers and Partners as a ranked lawyer in the matter, as well by IFLR1000, LACCA, and Who´s Who Legal. He has worked with the main banks in the region and important financial and insurance institutions. Among his noteworthy cases are:

– Purchase process of 99.97% of the shares representing the capital of Grupo Banistmo, S.A. in Inversiones Financieras Bancosal, S.A., by HSBC Asia Holding (Panama).

– 43.80% purchase of shares of Banco Salvadoreño, S.A., by HSBC, which allowed it to control 95.29% of the IFB´s shares, transaction valued in US$156 Million.
