Diversity & Inclusion

VPBG is committed to promoting a safe and inclusive environment, where everyone can feel free and respected, regardless of his/her/their race or ethnicity, culture, faith and spirituality, age, gender or sexual orientation. The firm nurtures a sense of belonging, cooperation and support among its members, aware that the plurality of ideas arising from a truly diverse place to work is an invaluable asset.

VPBG+ is our program to support and strengthen local efforts in order to create opportunities for an open debate through Affinity Groups (ERGs), considering the four main pillars: Gender, LGBT+, Ethnics and Differently Abled Professionals. VPBG+ also supports several local projects and initiatives, such as Incluir Direito, founded in 2016, which aims to increase the participation of black people in the legal market, promoting inclusion, diversity and social justice, through educational and personal development for that young black men and women participate, on equal terms, in the selection processes of law firms.

In addition, due to our strategic alliance with Dentons, we also participate in several global initiatives focused on Diversity and Inclusion, being our LGBT+ Affinity Group globally connected through the GLOW Initiative. In 2023, the global initiatives to promote LGBT+ equality at Dentons were recognized by the renowned British institution Stonewall on the Top Global Employer Index, alongside 6 other global companies in the gold category, as one of the most inclusive places in the world to work.

Pro Bono

Throughout our history, we have always been dedicated to social, humanitarian and assistance causes.

Our dedication is mainly through pro bono legal assistance to foundations, associations and non-profit entities, which are visited, analyzed and selected by our Pro Bono Committee. In this regard, VPBG has already advised dozens of entities, having dedicated thousands of hours of pro bono work.

Among the works carried out, we highlight our work with institutions such as Fundação Estudar and Turma do Jiló, which have programs for social inclusion through education, Renova BR, an organization that promotes citizenship and democracy through political education of new leaders, Programa Acolhe and Associação Beneficente Santa Fé, which offers support to women and children victims of violence.

Another project that we are very proud of is the participation of our partners as Endeavor mentors, advising high-impact entrepreneurs on legal issues and challenges in various areas of law.

Assisting impact organizations is part of our history and culture. We believe that technical knowledge and corporate responsibility are powerful allies for social transformation. In social, humanitarian and assistance issues, we are all allies.

This is our commitment, our responsibility and our goal.
