Career

María Paula is the Firm’s Real Estate Director.

Her practice focuses on corporate and real estate law and includes assistance in commercial transactions, housing transactions and structuring local real estate projects with foreign investment. Maria Paula also focuses on different agreements related to the acquisition, lease and operation of real estate used for commercial, residential and hotel purposes, among others. Within her areas of expertise Maria Paula has provided legal advice to real to PropTech / real estate clients.

She is also involved and has experience in the entire development process of real estate projects, including the preparation  title studies, the preparation and negotiation of promise to purchase contracts and their subsequent public deed of sale, establishments of trusts, and/or companies to complete investment processes, memorandums of understanding, and the relevant investment framework agreements, hotel operating contracts, commercial projects, student housing, among others.

She graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá D.C. and earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Inalde Business School.

The team also includes managing partner Bernardo Cárdenas, who splits his practice between corporate and M&A, and banking and finance; and energy specialist Santiago González. Key associates include senior Santiago Miramón, who is noted for his growing experience in corporate reorganisations, M&A, and corporate governance issues; and real estate associate director María Paula Álvarez. Associate Felipe Molano left the firm in February 2023.
