The transactional practice for Morales & Besa‘s sizeable 22-strong group (‘focused lawyers with great experience in projects‘) is consistently involved in high-end projects, including structuring, development, acquisition, sale and financing matters. The firm’s robust regulatory practice advises on due diligence processes, bidding participation, negotiating with the authorities, and litigation. The client base includes entities from several regulated sectors, such as energy, construction, public works and sewage water. Regularly leading multidisciplinary teams, infrastructure and energy specialist Carlos Silva advises on a project’s full chain; José Miguel Carvajal is a banking and finance expert; Myriam Barahona (‘outstanding problem-solving abilities‘) focuses on banking, finance and project finance work; and Macarena Laso is real estate and construction head. Strong support is provided by senior associates James Channing  (construction and infrastructure projects in the public concessions, energy and real estate sectors); and public works concessions and regulatory expert Katannya Jablonski. Former senior associate Javier Balbontín left the firm in January 2021, since when -in May- the firm has hired Macarena López  from Molina Ríos Abogados.
