Bofill, Mir & Álvarez Jana‘s six-strong competition and antitrust team is led by TMT specialist Guillermo de la Jara. The group has been active in merger control matters, recently (particularly in the logistics, mining, consumer products, real estate, forestry and construction sectors); competition compliance; anti-competitive behaviour investigations; and associated litigation and civil claims. Co-head of the firm’s dispute resolution practice, Rodrigo Gil is increasingly involved in significant antitrust and unfair competition cases, while former FNE litigator Daniela Severin is the senior associate to note.
Bofill, Mir & Álvarez Jana fields a seven-strong team that has broad TMT sector experience. Representative areas of expertise include the design and application of regulations, contract negotiations, TMT-related litigation, and TMT projects involving Chile’s public authorities. Former legal adviser to the Undersecretary of Telecommunications, Guillermo de la Jara is widely respected for his expertise in regulatory matters that involve the telecoms and media sectors. Founding partner Octavio Bofill is also experienced in technology, media and telecoms matters.
Bofill, Mir & Álvarez Jana‘s six-strong public law practice is well known for regulatory and constitutional matters across a range of sectors, including energy, telecoms, land development, public transport, water, environment, healthcare, gaming and advertising. In addition, the practice assists with judicial reviews, litigation before the constitutional courts, public procurement, and devising strategies to prevent legal infringements. Guillermo de la Jara co-heads the public law practice (as well as the TMT group), and his broad practice includes regulated markets, administrative litigation and public procurement. Strong support is provided by senior associates Cristián Franetovic, Jorge Barrera and Daniela Severín.
Bofill, Mir & Álvarez Jana‘s five-strong environmental practice area is an integral part of the firm’s full-service offering and is particularly experienced in advising on the interaction between environmental law and public and administrative law. The team has been active, recently, in matters involving environmental compliance, due diligence for major transactions, environmental litigation, water rights, and ongoing environmental advisory. Guillermo de la Jara leads the practice group, which also includes administrative and regulatory senior associate Cristián Franetovic.
Bofill, Mir & Álvarez Jana‘s energy practice area is a multi-disciplinary and six-strong team, led by natural resources partner Pablo Mir, that comprises members of the firm’s corporate, regulatory and dispute resolution groups. It primarily advises clients from both the conventional and non-conventional renewable energy sectors, including solar, wind energy, mini-hydro and geothermal projects. Also key to the department are Ana María Yuri, José Antonio Velasco, co-public law head Guillermo de la Jara, and arbitration specialist Rodrigo Gil. Former co-department head Rony Zimerman moved to Lembeye Abogados in April 2020.
