Career
Guillermo previously worked for Isapre Fundación Bancoestado (1990-1996) and the Telecommunications sub-Secretariat (1996-2010), where as legal adviser he partook in some of the most important reforms to the internet and mobile telephony sectors, the definition of the digital TV standard in Chile and the rules on telecommunications antennas.

Guillermo graduated from the Universidad de Chile Law School (1990). He holds a Ph.D. from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain (2008) and a Diploma in Economy and Finance for lawyers from the Economy and Administration School at Universidad de Chile (1997).

Guillermo de la Jara co-heads the public law practice (as well as the TMT group), and his broad practice includes regulated markets, administrative litigation and public procurement. Guillermo de la Jara leads the practice group, which also includes administrative and regulatory senior associate Cristián Franetovic.

Bofill, Mir & Álvarez Jana‘s energy practice area is a multi-disciplinary and six-strong team, led by natural resources partner Pablo Mir, that comprises members of the firm’s corporate, regulatory and dispute resolution groups. It primarily advises clients from both the conventional and non-conventional renewable energy sectors, including solar, wind energy, mini-hydro and geothermal projects. Also key to the department are Ana María Yuri, José Antonio Velasco, co-public law head Guillermo de la Jara, and arbitration specialist Rodrigo Gil. Former co-department head Rony Zimerman moved to Lembeye Abogados in April 2020.
