Career

As one of five Certified Information Privacy Professionals (CIPP) within the department, Mr. Kibel advises clients in many industries regarding privacy and data security issues. With a client base that includes interactive companies, advertising agencies, media providers, data/security compliance companies and other commercial entities, Mr. Kibel provides counsel and advice on interactive and behavioural advertising, social media, mobile marketing, market research, affiliate marketing, data collection and usage, and other emerging products and services. His considerable experience in this area includes advising on internal information security policies, contractual obligations and requirements, security breaches and incident responses, audits, GDPR compliance, and other matters in connection with an organization’s collection, storage and use of data in all aspects of its business.

As an active participant in professional associations devoted to privacy and data security and a frequent speaker on the topic, he is a former co-chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ (IAPP) New York City KnowledgeNet group and is the Program Chair of the New York City Bar Association’s annual privacy and data security event.
