Career

Darcy L. Jones is a member of Kasowitz’s intellectual property group, where she practices in the areas of patent and trade secret litigation. Her practice covers a wide range of technologies, including pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, luxury consumer products, and computer software. Darcy has considerable experience representing clients in diverse and complex matters in all phases of litigation in state and federal courts, from pre-filing investigation through post-trial briefing and appeal, and case management. She also has extensive experience in both written and oral advocacy, arguing numerous discovery and dispositive motions, examining witnesses, taking and defending expert depositions, and drafting trial and appeal briefs. Darcy has tried three patent cases to judgment in the past five years. Darcy is only admitted to practice in Georgia. Darcy is recognized in the 2015 edition of The Legal 500 and as a "Rising Star" in the 2014 edition of Georgia Super Lawyers.

Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP focuses on technology- and pharmaceutical-related cases, acting for both plaintiffs and defendants. Jonathan Waldrop, Darcy Jones and Marcus Barber joined forces to defend Google, Motorola, LG, Samsung and Asus against an infringement suit brought by a Japanese inventor regarding lock features for Android-based smartphones and wearables, obtaining a full dismissal for all clients. On the plaintiff side, the trio acted for MV3 Partners in a suit brought against digital media player Roku over a patent covering media streaming technology. Jay Deshmukh joined the New York office, while Steven Carlson left for Robins Kaplan LLP. Verizon, Sony Electronics and Mallinckrodt are also key clients.
