Career

Attorney at law specialized in intellectual property and copyright. He joined as senior associate to the Department of International Trademarks and Patents Department, in 2017. He also deals with issues related to IP prosecution, litigation, copyright, corporate IP and contract law.

Formerly, he was an associate attorney in the law firm Silva & Cia to the Patents, Innovation, Trademark and Copyright departments. As an associate, he legally advised startups, national and multinational companies regarding the protection of their intangibles, risk management, business models and corporate law matters. In addition, he actively counseled important universities, research centers and incubators. Jointly, he was actively involved in negotiations and the defense of copyright and related rights in the film, artistic, literary and musical industry.

Previously, he worked in Finland as legal counsel at the Technical Research Center of Finland (VTT), where he was a member of the Innovation Policy department and R & D department, providing legal services in the area of ​​technology management and intellectual property. He also concluded an internship at the Arbitration Institute of the Finnish Chamber of Commerce. In Chile, he was the attorney for the Real Estate, Commerce and Mines Institution of La Serena (in the north of the country) and served as an independent lawyer in civil and commercial matters.

He has attended international congresses organized by the International Trademark Association (INTA) and by the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI).

He completed courses in intellectual property law at Hanken School of Economics and corporate and commercial law, international commercial litigation (GATT / WTO), commercial arbitration, international intellectual property law and corporate law at the University of Helsinki. He also took a course on Technology Contracts in 2015 at the University of Chile.
