Position

Iván Poli specialises in IP law and advises foreign and domestic clients on patent prosecution and enforcement. He reviews complex prosecution issues before the Argentine PTO (drafts of responses to final actions, appeals, etc.) as well as complex litigation before the Federal Courts (appeals against rejections, preliminary injunctions, enforcement, etc.).

Iván joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2008 as a partner, and is currently Of counsel.

At present he is a member of the Asociación Argentina de Agentes de la Propiedad Industrial, the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle (AIPPI) and the Colegio Público de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.

Education

He graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1973 and obtained a Master of Comparative Law (Foreign Practice) from The George Washington University (Washington, D.C.) in 1978. In 1981 he obtained his Ph.D. from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
