He was awarded his Law Degree by the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1983. Between 1986 and 1987 he attended a graduate course on Business Law at Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, as well as other specific courses and seminars, including the Program of Instruction for Lawyers at Harvard Law School in 1993, the Fundamentals of Management Program, at the Columbia Business School in 2000 and the Global Issues in Corporate Mining Strategy and Government Policy at the University of Dundee in 2001.
